MASHHAD, Khorasan Prov. -- A high-ranking Afghan commercial and economic delegation left here for Chabahar Port in the southeastern Province of Sistan-Baluchestan on Thursday to inspect the region's transit facilities.

The 25-man Afghan delegation, headed Afghan Minister of Commerce Mustafa Kazemi, comprised trade officials from provinces of Kandahar, Herat and Jalalabad, IRNA reported.

Mohammad Siyadat, the head of the International Exhibition of Contribution to Afghanistan's Development and Reconstruction said that the delegation will, during its one-day stay in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, inspect Chabahar Free Trade Zone.

Siyadat said a number of provincial economic officials are accompanying the Afghan delegation on the visit.

He said commercial and economic delegations from the republics of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and economic officials from the U.K. and Japanese embassies in Iran have in the past two days visited the Afghan fair.
